Why ?

Why was this important post and comments hidden ?

 https://www0.indymedia.org.uk/en/2005/07/318900.html

I would like to think I and others raised legitimate concerns over the editorial policy and made worthwhile suggestions. Hiding this post is counter-productive to the spirit of Indy Media.

The site is already facing a credibility problem because of all the 7/7 crap that has been posted of late please do not add to the problems by hiding the concerns of those who can see this excellent site coming under the control of a small elite.

Can you substantiate your allegations about freethepeeps made on the comments section of that thread?

How is this news?

I said in my post that I DID NOT know if "ftp" was an offical moderator / editor or not. The post he has made seems to give the impression of that being the case but I am keeping an open mind. Frankly I would be amazed considering his views but I simply do not know for sure.

Perhaps somebody from IMC could confirm or deny this ?

Sam - I also can't see why these things are being hidden, and don't think they should be just because you are refuting something that an IMC ed has said. Open discussion is/should be what IM is about.
In terms of the specific post that was hidden, I can only guess that IMC would argue that it breaches the guideline on "non-news":

"Non-news : posts which are clearly purely comment, opinion or rants unrelated to a recent event or action etc"

I think a statement from IMC would be helpful.
