On Friday, 8 July, activists in Minsk, Belarus, expressed their solidarity with those who protest against the G8 summit in Scotland.
Originally it was planned to organise a carnival, with drums and Scottish costumes.
These plans were cancelled due to the London bombings - that's how activists decided to show respect to the feelings of the people affected, even if they realise that hundreds and thoudands of people die every day in Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan and other Southern countries, and these deaths are not widely covered by the media.
Therefore, the protesters gave away leaflets with the text about the real face of the G8 and handled ti the embassy the letter to the ambassador, in which they condemned police violence against the peaceful protesters, and expressed condolences to the bombings' victims.
