The prisoner solidarity rally at the Edinburgh court was cleared by police, with two people arrested
SHERIFF COURT, EDINBURGH -- At around 3:50pm, what had been a jail support presence of about 40-60 people was the scene of another arrest and the bulk of supporters of those inside were cleared. One protester, who had been previously arrested, according to one bystander, approached a police officer to make sure his attendance was legal (his is banned from protests under jail conditions). As a team of more than five officers surrounded him, the gathered supporters began chanting "No Justice, No Peace; Fuck the police" and also "Fight the Rich, not the poor. One solution: Class War!"
Tensions slightly escalated as it became clear the man surrounded by police was handcuffed, and as he was moved to a waiting van. Nearly simultaneously, police moved to clear the entire presence in front of the Court. Once they pushed the crowd arround the corner, police detained one person (for walking too slowly) and arrested another (for carrying a black flag). The man detained reported that he was photographed, according to the police, as a potential terrorist.
