Central London quiet

Graham | 07.07.2005 11:09

Central London (Tottenham Court Road, where I am) is eerily quiet with only the odd siren every ten minutes or so.

A little bit of movement has returned on the pavements, but people are still mostly clustered round TV shops, and there are still no vehicles other than the emergency services moving. Our mobiles seem to be back on now, it isn't clear how far they were just overloaded before and how far the service was switched off for fear of remote control uses.
