Sydney people will gather for a G8 solidarity action tommorow, winding through the streets in a climate criminal carnivale highlight the corporate polluters ending with a party at a secret location.

It is also a warm up for the big mobilisation planned for August 30 at the iconic Sydney Opera House where the annual Forbes Global CEO conference will be held.

Rising Tide will hold a climate criminal carnivale, on Friday July 8, starting 5.30pm from Town Hall as part of a global day for climate change action from the G8 and ending with a party at a secret location.

Rising Tide says, "dress to impress: masks, wigs, undies, pyjamas, anything goes. Bring whatever. Friends, musical instruments, pets, kids, your mum - lets make some noise! Walk, ride your bike, roller skates, skate board - whatever" > Warm up for Forbes and cool down the planet.

...

From 30 August 2005 one of the world's richest men Steve Forbes and NSW Premier Bob Carr will host the fifth annual Forbes Global CEO Conference, to be opened by Prime Minister John Howard at a swanky cocktail event at the Sydney Opera House.

For two and a half days the Opera House will be taken over by more than 300 CEOs - representing some of the world's biggest war profiteers, environmental vandals and corporate crooks. Like the World Trade Organisation and the World Economic Forum, the Global CEO Conference is a means of promoting economic and social policies that benefit the rich and the powerful at the expense of the majority of the world's people and the environment.

A $5000 a head event restricted to top executives means that you're not invited - but you can come anyway by joining the 30A protests. By mobilising in big numbers on 30A we can show that the Forbes CEO Conference and the policies that it represents are not going ahead unopposed.
