Police stopped a man riding his bike down the A9 this afternoon, grabbed his bike, used bolt-cutters on his bike-lock (presumably they were worried he might be able to use it to lock on to something) and refused to display uniform numbers or provide a receipt for damaged property. Note the particularly dick-headed look on this cop's face throughout the incident.

He let me "off" when I replied it was "something to do with terrorism" that made this a criminal offense..
He was the living image of the pig from 1984 whose children shoot at him with crossbows because all they are exposed to is state militarism and his own authoritarian paranoia........

Send this evidence to Newsnight Scotland!

Amer Anwar was interviewed, and made allegations of police covering up their numbers. This allegation was put by presenter Gordon Brewer to the officer responsible for police in the area. He denied that there was any edvidence of such actions, but any claims would be investigated.
I imagine Newsnight Scotland would want to follow up on these comments in light of the footage posted on Indymedia. This policeman is clearly abusing his power and should be held to account. It will also make other policeman think twice before doing something similar.
