Glasgow update and what (didn't) happen

06.07.2005 12:56 | G8 2005

A quick report on a dry day in Glasgow (and I'm not talking about the weather)

After a split in tactics, many people decided to leave glasgow and go to Stirling. The affinity groups left therefore had to make a hard choice about what to do in support of the blockades. Around 40-50 people who remained split up in small groups hoping to do blockades but quickly people were stopped & searched, one guy arrested. Most people wondered around Glasgow whilst others monitored the motorways for delegate motorcades. Because we were left with few people it seemed from the outset that it'll be completly suicidal, nevertheless the comrades at Glasgow decided to go ahead.

Now in Glasgow there are police near buy doing section 60 stop and searches so be warned IF you decide to come to the convergence centre.

Solidarity to Stirling & Edinburgh comrades!

We were in Glasgow till about1:45pm today writing this before we leave for Edinburgh/Stirling,nice to see our taxes are spent on decorating the street corners of Glasgow with lovely bright yellow jackets, there are police everywhere and for what nothing, George Square full of them as is every other street corner. Every motorway on rap and off rap is patroled by 2/3 cops! The roads buzzing with Cheshire police motor bikes and cars! Be warned they are stopping and questioning folk in the street.
