A Passive Citizen is a Good Citizen

Department For Passive Citizenship | 06.07.2005 12:29 | G8 2005

Remain passive at all times. A passive citizen is a good citizen

Citizens wishing to register their unease at government policy should form an orderly queue. Once your photograph and personal details have been added to your citizen database entry you will be shown to your allocated position.

Willful disobedience is bad citizenship and will be punished by removal from the spectacle.

Remain passive at all times. A passive citizen is a good citizen

Your acceptance of the rules has been noted.

It's not enough to simply avoid questioning

As Winston Smith discovered and Guantanamo incarcerees are still discovering, its not enough simply not to question once the system has its eyes on you. You have to mean it. You have to submit. Any dissent must be beaten out of you, your will and mind must be broken so that you can never question again. You will then go into McDonalds and it will make you feel happy. You will then be a good citizen, but we'll still watch you just in case you are reinfected by humanity.
