Police Cancel G8 March

Police have declared that the march is to be postponed.

The police have done the inevitable and cancelled the Gleneagles march. They site 'public safety concerns' as their reason.

"There are bus loads of peaceful protestors waiting to pass Stirling and march on Gleneagles. People who would ensure a safe march, but the police have stopped them from marching."

Amar Anwar has declared that the protestors have a democratic right to march so the march should still go ahead.

Many people are saying that the police have made a big mistake as stopping the march is more likely to cause more risk to public safety.

Confusion reigns.

Confirmed: 11:38 According to G8 Alternatives spokeperson Mike Arnott, the announcement that the march has been cancelled is the result of a unilateral decision by the police. As far as G8 Alternatives is concerned, the march is going ahead as planned.

Amar Anwar is correct in declaring that protestors have a democratic right to march but thanks to the twats this morning in Stirling the real protesters won't be allowed to march.

Twats in Stirling

A large number of protestors this morning attacked banks, shops, private cars, and police in the quiet town of Stirling (or at least Bannockburn, same thing). I don't think you can blame the police, or the worried residents of Auchterarder, for coming to the conclusion that more of these mindless thugs will try a repeat performance this afternoon.

If anyone has spoilt it for the peaceful G8 protestors its these clowns within, not the authorities.

Sorry, are you saying that it's not true that Stirling was trashed? Was the whole thing staged? Actors?
