Institute of Autonomy Evicted during G8

Visited Institute of Autonomy today, but found security guard letting himself into building. Building was boarded up and clearly been evicted. Guess I was right about using G8 for eviction.

Anybody know what is going on?

The Institute for Autonomy was going to be evicted on the 7th of July. It seems like the eviction came a bit earlier, but that's of no surprise. Watch this space and the usual e-mail lists, most probably we'll be getting another building in early fall. The struggle continues!

Rent

I've always found paying rent to be really useful in acquiring a space.

Paying rent was OK many decades ago when rents were cheap but now rents are so extortionate it is beyond many peoples means to rent!

Well wake up mate the institute of autonomy was gonna be evicted during this time period unless u been in the mountains of Chiapas for 6 months or on a hippy trek u should have known this information already. Yeah and rent these days is a rip off but it always was a rip off it never was a fair system. Maybe u need talk about a concept of the living wage the wage that u need to live before u decide that rent was cheap in the good old days!

Oh well if you were going to get evicted on 7th July, why worry? But if you cannot defend one squat you are hardly going to bring about a revolution are you! Perhaps if I was a hip student, sorry revolutionary, then may be I would know that the Institute of Autonomy was going to evicted. Instead I just work nearby and get patronised, when I try and help. Nice one mate! But remember I am the member of the working class, with a job, and your the middle class prats, who don't have a job. You gave up the Institute of Autonomy without so much as a whimper, that is called cowardice on my council estate. I guess revolutionary tourism in Scotland was more important and glamorous than trying to figure how the local court system works.

Don't worry I will not bother to help next time, I can do without the patronising and snid remarks
