UAF Finished?

Larry H | 05.07.2005 01:14 | Anti-racism | Birmingham

Searchlight magazine has announced it is pulling out of UAF. This leaves only the SWP, George Galloway and a load of Ken's cronies to pocket the cash the Trade Unions throw at them.

So, will the SWP now dump the lollipops of UAF and reignite ANL again, in another spectacular attempt to dupe people into giving them their cash so that the SWP can finance their move into swanky new offices?

I knew it wouldn't last, but this was quicker than even I could have imagined.

Don't like Searchlies much but UAF/SWP even less.

Don't subscribe to the state sponsorship theory over Searchlies either, but I can see from the magazine that they were sick of being called "racist" for tackling the BNP on the BNP's own "issues". Obviously this sort of confrontation is something the SWP claearly did not like as it would mean them actually having to confront the working class, something with its radical (sic) middle class and or new-found Muslim fundamentalist support it could never do.

The issue of racism in Searchlight however is interesting. It has a number of highly placed "ex"-fascists in its ranks and one who would appear to be very friendly with the Loyalist murder group UVF and its political wing, PUP.

Quite clearly the UAF was never going to work, and the cashcow it is has been bled dry persumably by the "comrades" who prefer rap concerts to serious political work.

Let's hope they all rot.

Ex-fascists?

Surely by using ex-fascists they are able to articulate to people what is wrong with the fascist BNP better than those who have only ever waved the infamous lollipops?
