Where is everyone

It is such a shame so few people have made it up to Scotland, I thought this was going to be a really big event, I thought at last we were going to make the G8 leaders hear our voice and see our faces instead so few have bothered to come. Well done to all those who did but just imagine what ir could have been like if you had bought three friends ?
The apathy in the movement is so disheartning - all at the Live 8 concert I suppose !

It was pretty clear quite early on that numbers being mobilised from the more radical parts of the movement would be low compared to previous G8 summits. Who knows why... perhaps because of the logistical difficulties imposed by the location or perhaps because of the PR spin.
As far as I can tell the entire PR stategy of the government with the help of Oxfam/MPH and Bob/Live8 has been to co-opt and undermine the resistance movement. How can you mobilise when the media are telling people that we are already winning and that our enemys are infact our friends? How can people join demos which are supported by the fucking power-mongers who we seeks to wrestle away power?
But beyond that, there is a lot going on in Scotland and this means spreading ourselves more thinly than nessecary. If the faslane blockade had lower numbers than normal, was it because no body cares or was it because of the 'carnival' in Edingburgh? Or was it simply that people were aware that the base would be closed anyway?
And if the carnival was a bit of a wash out and overrun by cops who prevented people from moving around, was that because of lack of numbers? Or were the lack of numbers simply because people are tired of these street conflicts?
