The "unexpectedly high number" of people meant that the start of the march was severely delayed for most people. Many people claimed to have been stuck at the start for up to two hours, with very little information given out as to the cause.
Still, underway the mood was pretty positive (well why would you do it otherwise...?) and people kept that way by the numerous drumming ensembles.
Back in the field there was entertainment on the stages, vast consumption, and plenty of litter.
This will certainly have got the G8 quaking in their boots.

reminding of the old joke to fight poverty by killing someone poor.
being poor is not as much a problem as being rich on the
cost of others / how about a campain 'make millionaires history'
which would most certainly not been joint by popstars???

Really disappointed nobody has posted a shot of the very, very old ladies arm in arm, helping each other down the street very slowly. They must have been at least 80 and were all wearing paper chef's hats with 'Make Poverty History' writen on them. Wonderful women.
