Global media interest in blockade of G8 protesters in Edinburgh

The world's media was watching as hundreds of riot and uniformed police surrounded a group of Make Poverty History marchers who had the temerity to leave the official route.
As well as a significant Indymedia presence, I personally spoke to journalists from Sky news, Channel 4 News, Associated Press, The Scotsman and the Scottish Herald. Many other journos were present at the blockade in Buccleugh Place, close to the Meadows, some of whom waited around for over an hour whilst it looked as though the situation might be escalated by heavy-handed police tactics into major violence.
Luckily this did not happen, although 2 protesters were arrested after a Section 60 was declared throughout Edinburgh City Centre and the Meadows.
