Anyone trying to subvert your home (even a temporary one) should not be tolerated, whether its the police, christian fluffies, rock stars- or people who think they're radical because of their lifestyle, and don't need to do show solidarity and respect for others as a result.

Sorry if I'm being pessimistic about this- it's down to decades of experience. It's not inevitable that any travelling folk who might turn up will have this attitude, but you do need to make sure everyone in the neighbourhoods understands how to deal if you get hassle, regardless of where it comes from. You need to make your decisions about this and make sure everyone participates and understands what you've decided.

Hopefully if there are any misunderstandings they'll be sorted and your experience will be a good one.

I don't want to be giving an anti-traveller vibe here-the thing is that it is really easy to tag along with someone who has a vehicle as the vast majority of travelling folk are pretty sound and anti-judgemental- the people who end up getting the really shitty end of the stick when tossers decide to go on the road are the people who take them in, give them lifts and somewhere to crash,lend them money and end up getting their giros and passports nicked.

Just don't go thinking that because someone comes from an oppressed minority they must automatically be sound. If you think someone is being a complete tosser, chances are that the people in the motor they turned up with also think they're shit, but won't say anything to you.
