Cheers for that - I've set up a G8 blog aggregator at  http://g8.blogbound.com/ with all of the feeds I could find from that list.

I'll also be blogging the G8.

George Galloway, Tommy Sheridan, Alex Salmond, Iain Banks and others I'll be chasing you - as well as normal and non-celebrity activists - with my dictating machine for an interview.

Give the bloggers and other independent media activists priority over the corporate media e.g. when mobbed by the press, give the interview to the blogger and let the corporate media record it.

Iain Banks?

24.06.2005 13:55

Is Iain Banks an anticapitalist?

He's the bloke who wrote The Wasp Factory isn't he?

.

Mr Banks...

is indeed the author of The Wasp Factory, and many other things.

He also wrote Complicity (about a left wing journo getting involved in a murderer's evil scheme) and Dead Air (about a left wing shock jock getting involved with a gangster - great scene when the hero punches a nazi holocaust denier live on air)

And hes written loads of other stuff, notably the Culture series of sci-fi novels about a highly technologically advanced non-hierachical, communal civilisation with no government or property - he's often said that he invented The Culture 'cos he wanted to live there.

He was also quite vocal in opposition to the Iraq War and is deffo no friend of the capitalists.

Well worth checking out.

[I interviewed him once and he's a very nice man]
