And where are people going to stay while in Scotland?

23.06.2005 08:47

And where are people going to stay while up in Scotland? Are they supposed to pay extortionate hotel prices or sleep on the streets?

"Piss Up, "Brewery", "Organise"

23.06.2005 09:30

Of all the funny stories coming out of the G8 protests this is the best. This bunch of numptys decide to try their hand at a bit of dealing and what happens ?

1. They negotiate a "special discounted" price which turns out to be higher than the standard amount

2. They plaster the details all over the internet giving plod the ideal way to control everyone arriving

3. Information then leaks that the organisers are not using the train they are trying to sell others but are driving up in cars

4. Not enough of the overpriced tickets are sold so increasingly desparate postings are put up pleading with people to buy

5. A request is made for people to make further contributions because the organisers screwed up

You couldn't make it up !

James

Accomodation

23.06.2005 09:52

There is Dissent organised accomodation and convergence space in Glasgow, Edinburgh and at a rural campsite near Stirling. The council and other groups are also providing accomodation. Most of this will be camping, so bring a tent and sleeping bag.

...

Not true

23.06.2005 10:16

Let's get things straight "There is Dissent organised accomodation " No there isn't.

There is SOME accomidation but very little Dissent has booked a small number of spaces but has organised nothing

Correct accommodation details

23.06.2005 11:43

Hi,

For arrival and accommodation details, got G8 'quicklinks' section at the head of the main indymedia page.

There are Dissent! organised infopoints and accommodation in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Stirling (rural convergence site).

The council are also providing accommodation in Edinburgh for the week, as are other mobilisations.

Rest assured accmmodation will not be a problem for the week of the Summit.

Yes the train was not a wise idea, but there you go, everyone makes mistakes, and we should look after each other, give constructuve criticism, not give them grief.

what the fuck?

Whats this bullshit "james"

I think you got your trains confused. The SE ASSEMBLY trains are still £50 and the single (because there has been high demand from MPH) is £40. The GR train which is £75/£90 has had problems because of there train chartering company increasing the price. Therefore ha to hike up the prices from £55/£45 to £75/£90 solidarity price.

Your real name isn't ian gomeche by chance?!
