Dover-Sat.Memorial to 58 Chinese dead opens

A memeorial to the 58 Chinese people who were found dead in a lorry in Dover is to be inauguarted on Saturday 18th June, the fifth anniversary of their deaths.
The memorial,which has been financed by donations from a large number of individuals and groups over the last six months, will be on the seafront near the roundabout next to the Eastern Docks. (bottom of the A2 Jubilee Way.)
It will be opened at 1pm by Dover MP Gwyn Prosser (Lab), as part of a service which is held each year to mark the tragedy. The wording on the memorial will be in both Chinese and English.
Rev Norman Setchell, chair of the Dover Asylum Seekers Support Group said " We hope that this ceremony will be supported by as many people as possible".
