G8 leaders were out in force on the Cowley Road carnival in Oxford taking their pro-capitalist slogans to the streets
ON Sunday, the East Oxford Community Carnival was graced with the presence of the G8 leaders getting on down to the pulsating rhythms of Breach of the Peace samba band, and brandishing pro-capitalist slogans such as "Make poverty compulsory," "Nuclear power rocks," "Phuk you, I'm rich" and "More blood for oil."
There was a positive reaction from the crowd, apart from one organiser who felt that the political content was inappropriate and threatened to call security to force the G8 leaders off, and one woman who felt that use of the word "phuk" would have a corrupting influence on the women and children who were watching the parade.

Pro-capitalists plan to march in Edinburgh on July the 2nd, the same day as the huge 'Make Poverty History'protests.
A group calling themselves CRAP (Capitalism Represents Acceptable Policy) claim they will be mobilising hundreds to march behind the banner 'Make Poverty Worse'.
They want to encourage the G8 leaders to do ignore the demands of oppositional protests and simply deliver 'more of the same', calling for more debt, total privatisation worldwide, more arms to countries with human rights abuses, an imminent invasion of Iran, and total ecological collapse.
