The Marriott Hotel in Sheffield is now heavily blocaded - by the police.

... two days before there is any need to do so.

Officer XS10C and his colleagues would like you to visit the site and probe his security - apparently taking photographs on the streets of Sheffield is illegal right now.

i doubt taking photos of the hotel or security fences etc is illegal, but it will no doubt get you stopped and searched by police.

They seemed to think the Summit had already started

When I visited, I took lots of photos and was mildly harassed by the police. They asked me why I was taking pictures of a G8 Summit, when I thought I was taking pictures of an unnecessary road block. Exploring their defences did show up a few training needs though....not sure they are very good at identifying regional accents, when they asked where I was from..."It's a wee bit silly if ya canna tell!" and their chat up lines need improving..."Why won't you talk to me, I'm from meersbrook police station?". The funniest thing was when the police cyclists went into the cemetery (so as to disappear from view) but their glow in the dark fancy dress was a bit of a giveaway.
