The police have applied for powers to ban any procession (two or more people count as a procession) see here for details:  http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/regions/sheffield/2005/06/312790.html

However there are, at the moment, 5 protests planned:

1. Critical Mass - June 15th 4:30pm Devonshire Green -  http://sheffield.dissent.org.uk/criticalmass.html

2. No Justice - We will not tolerate our rights being taken away from us. Demonstrate on Devonshire Green for the freedom of speech, the right to protest and for real democracy. The idea of the protest will be to express the violation of our rights we have experienced here. We will be many, but silent, our mouths taped and our hands cuffed, we will carry banners, but these banners will be blank or blackened so they will say nothing.

Protest at Devonshire Green on Wednesday 15th June 5.30 pm.

Called by Sheffield Against the G8 -  http://sheffield.dissent.org.uk/

3. DEMONSTRATE AT THE G8 JUSTICE & INTERIOR MINISTERS' BANQUET at the Winter Gardens, Wednesday 15th June 2005, ASSEMBLE 6pm, Outside the Lyceum Theatre, access from Arundel Gate opposite the Odeon. Called by Sheffield Stop the War Coalition  http://www.sheffieldagainstwar.org.uk/

4. DEMONSTRATE AT THE G8 JUSTICE & INTERIOR MINISTERS' BANQUET at Cutlers Hall, Thursday 16th June, assemble 6pm At the Cathedral Tram Stop, access from East Parade (comming off Campo Lane). Called by Sheffield Stop the War Coalition  http://www.sheffieldagainstwar.org.uk/

5. Rice for Dinner - A simple meal like billions eat every night. ...and you can come too! More information... DEVONSHIRE GREEN, SHEFFIELD 7.30PM, THURSDAY 16TH JUNE - MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY. More info: http://vortigo.org/ricefordinner/ See also PDF flyer attached to this post.

Please note that for the two demos called by the Sheffield Stop the War Coalition (some more details on the flyer above) the police are limiting numbers to 150 people 'to ensure a balance between the rights of protestors and those attending the event'...
