25 Days to Go

Tamm | 11.06.2005 09:14

Only 25 days to go before London is awareded the 2012 Olympic Games - A message from Denise Lewis

"Having competed at the Atlanta, Sydney
and Athens Olympic Games, I know how important great training and competition facilities are to enabling world-class performance.
A London Games would leave a much-needed sporting legacy for the next generation of British athletes. The newly-configured
Olympic Stadium would provide a permament home for Athletics in London, as well as housing state-of-the-art medical, training
and administration facilities.

Thank you so much for your support in
helping make this legacy a reality."

Olympic shit

11.06.2005 13:37

The olymics coming to London is not a good thing, on the contrary, it's shit. Already an entire university accomodation area has been evicted in the middle of exam time to 'rejuvinate' the area, plus it's a waste of time and money that could be used to adress real problems and concerns. Scores of workers died in the run up to the greek oylmpics from work related stress and injury, due to the tight timeframe, something which the rich organisers wont even have to see, let alone suffer.
The event also highlights how little the government gives a shit for people in this country. Do they pump millions into rejuvination because it is needed, or to benefit the lives of residents? No, it is only implemented when the government gets a chance to look good on the international scene.
Fuck the olympics, Fuck the government, and sabotage them both!

Building Update

11.06.2005 16:36

Just got back - building on the first stage is well advanced with foundations all in place. My lad was so excited when I told him and his mate that in 2012 they would be seeing the Olympics here, when they got back they were building an Olympic track in the garden !

Anyway here's some pictures of what we saw - hope you like them
