Theatre Workshops latest production Black Sun over Genoa tells the human story behind the anti-G8 demonstrations Genoa 2001. Based on documentary accounts, the play portrays the hope, the passion, the dedication of the protestors in the face of overwhelming opposition, and the tragedy of a young man, Carlo, who made the ultimate sacrifice for his belief in a better world.

Theatre Workshops latest production BLACK SUN OVER GENOA opens in Edinburgh to co-incide with the G8 Summit.
It tells the human story behind the anti-G8 demonstrations in Genoa 2001. Based on documentary accounts, this powerful play portays the hope, the passion, the dedication of the protestors in the face of overwhelming opposition and reveals the tragedy of a young Italian man, Carlo, who made the ultimate sacrifice for his belief in a better world.
Black Sun over Genoa is packed with passion and spectacle of contemporary protest including a mass choir, carnival style tactical frivolity, haunting film footage and a huge community cast of people from all ages and backgrounds.
