Dear Sir/Madam
I have 7 Agreements with a well known company, Brighthouse, aka Crazy Georges, aka Caversham
Finance, aka Nomura Bank of Japan. as follows:
5 -(hopefully) Legitamate Agreements.- though not yet examined.
1 -Fraudulent Agreement, I was Unaware of (they have only ever produced a copy), alledgedley signed in
my name - or knocked up on Photoshop in about 10 mins.
1 -Agreement number but, no actual Agreement. (agreement has been demanded in writing by various
Organisations without success).
Perhaps this could explain why it took them 5 months to send these documents, after I several threats of
OFT/TS and a registered letter.
With regard to the item 3 (Agreement number) the OFT licenced Brighthouse
being the trusting souls that they are, even though I have never taken this agreement out in the first
place. it has not stopped them from taking payments on it....wait a minute...that's THEFT is it not?...I am
only reminding you of the term as the OFT did not seem to understand the concept back in JANUARY
when I offered you this info and desperately needed help. I shall quote your member of staff "It's not
really our busness"!!!!!!!!!....I despair.....YOU gave this Company ( I use the term loosely) a licence.
So it seems while OFT were thinking of their slogan ENFORCEMENT IN PARTERSHIP,
I was being ROBBED to the tune of £6000, an example: £120 for a PS2 game!!! .when enforcing licenses do
OFT actually look at Crazy Georges er....sorry...the all new completely improved Brighthouse. wrong!
..Perhaps not, you really are too trusting, or detached.they are in fine form just as bad if not worse than
ever, I have recently met with a work collegue's partner, a former BH employee, let me say, some of the
things he had to say made YES-CAR CAR look like Help the Aged.
Fact 1, The TOTAL CREDIT PAYABLE box on the agreement, bears no relation what so ever to the sum you
REALLY have to pay back, in fact absolutely nowhere on the agreement does it actually quote how much
you owe!!, Example:
Toshiba TV =
Cash price = 997.12
Total Price = 997.12
Credit Charge = 327.68
Total Charge Payable = 1324.80
Inst: = 11.04
Service Cover = 5.95
DLC = 2.21
Weekly Inst: = 19.20
TOTALS=
Total Price = 997.12
Credit Charge = 327.68
Total Charge Payable = 1324.80
I was told the sum £1324.80 was the TAP under this agreement, not bad you say, exept thats not true, in
fact it's way off by around £1000 £2038 is the hidden total
but it is not mentioned in ANY paperwork retained by the customer, before you say anything like, oh you
just add this...stop! A pause is not tolerated, by staff, because they know if you actually added it up,
you would be out the door in a flash, hence why payments are displayed "weekly" rather than "monthly"
gives the illusion of a more complex sum, besides I CHALLENGE YOU to sit outside a BH showroom and
look at some of the clientelle that visit. just the downtroden of society, who are so pleased because
"those nice people at BH have financed the likes of us with a new TV, they gave us a cup'o tea an
evry'thin", Too right they will, Unfortunately, they dont see the wolf behind the door. Try and get that
"cup'o tea" if you fall behind one week. You can't even get your RIGHTS according to the LAW, never mind
a cup of tea.
Oh and dont wait around for BH to tell you simple things like...say, how much do I
owe? or, how much have I paid? they wont , I asked for copies of my Agreements and Statements of
Accounts. I was punished mercilessly for exercising my rights under: sec 77-78, The Consumer Credit Act
1974.
-Threats of re-possession (re-po court orders dont apply with BH),
-An engineered delay of 5 mnths, because I withheld payment,
-Default notices deliberately not served,(funny, I recieved Termination Notice ok, I'll bet) so you have no
chance of replying within 7 days.
Pause for thought, continue reading, sec 77-78, The Consumer Credit Act 1974, On the subject of
Requesting paperwork, if they fail to supply the Documents, does it not say...."they are not allowed to
take further action against you to enforce the agreement, until they do so." I have not yet recieved a full
copy of papers I requested, so how come they started Court Action?, oh, before you suggest Trading
Standards, they are aware, but care little.
I know you served an enforcement notice on Crazy Georges, re:Agreements (layout, wording) I shall quote
one recomendation:
REG_5_18(E) "Amended to request an acknowledgement that the consumer has had the opportunity to
read the terms of the agreement as well as highlighting the effect of certain terms."
Do you honestly think/or care if this is done?, so long as your suggested box is signed. Oh it gets signed
alright, because BH diversion tactics are amazing, you want to try it. No......whats that....you would not be
caught dead going to BH wanting finance. sounds about right.
Here are some tips:
--DO check out the web regarding BrightHouse, there are a staggering amount of victims out there.
--DON'T be blinded like the DTI re: interest rate cap.
--DO have a thought for all those poor souls, in the poorest area's (the only area's Brighthouse operate,
incidentely) who are not as well educated as others, as regard to finance and are targeted for it.
I will leave you with this thought.
Look in your wallet and see if you have a 0% Credit Card, if you have, think about just how lucky you
are,....... because the chances are the forsaken souls milked by BH (& Others) have paid the interest for
you.
P.S. after my Legal team tear BH to shreds we are going to get as much publicity as we can...Goodnight.
Mrs L Booth
-another let down, disillusioned, victim.
(Address, phone no. & Documents can be supplied)
But please, NO Threats, I have had plenty from Brighthouse.

Feel free to look at printouts, let me know if you see something I missed.
The two Items I did not sign for are: TV stand, PS2 Game.
