This isn't a notice board for organisations like the SWP to promote themselves and their events...

Yes, like it said, Chris Harman the editor of International Socialism. Everyone knows International Socialism is the journal of the SWP. No secrets there...

What is it with you people. As soon as someone from the SWP turns up you have to name and shame them. Grow up. They're anti-capitalists, they're anti- the G8, they have as much right to announce their events as anyone else, as long as they don't flood the site with spam. The odd anouncement here and there, I don't see a problem with that.

I for one would be interested to go to this event (if it was in my locality). I generally find the events put on by the Socialist Worker's Party to be informative and interesting. You have to take some of their stuff with a pinch of salt, but that's true of most organisations. Maybe it's not your cup of tea, that's fine.

But seriously... as soon as I saw the heading "economics of the madhouse" (which is the name of Harman's book) I thought 'right, I'd bet money someone's gone and written a comment along the lines of "SWP blah blah blah".

There's a lot we've all got in common you know, sure anarchists also have very important differences with trotskyists, and by all means disagree but all this name calling is just tedious.

anti-sectarian @narchist.

Anarchist Troll

Another sectarian trying to divide the movement. And all with a nod and a wink from from the Anarchist moderators of Indymedia. How typical of this place.

ps Please dont bother turning up to the G8 protests with your handful on middle class anarchist buddies since we have all learned that those who bring violence into the movement bring the state in with them.

Fair play

I don't have a problem with being told about G8 related events no matter who is organising them. If the cops are going to hold a big press conference to show how they're only going to use batons and not gas or water cannon then i want to know about it. If the good folks from MPH are going to hold a public meeting I want to know. If g8A are holding a meeting I want to know, if the SWP etc etc etc

There's a big difference between posting announcements and reports of meetings and spamming the newswire with party political press releases and the like (which in fact does not really happen anyway).

I'm no trot and to be honest I dislike the SWP organisation rather a lot, but some people on Indymedia are just a little too sectarian....

info wants to be free

And they tell people to vote labour where theres a chance of the conservatives getting in

thats better

Harman Meeting

07.06.2005 10:32

Hey, I typed in "Economics of the Madhouse" into google and found this website....

The talk in the Castle Hotel will be less of a SWP meeting, and more of a general introduction and analysis to Capitalism. Everyone is welcome, of all persuations.

I invited Harman down to south wales because I have some questions for him after reading his book that I wanted to ask him, not because he is SWP or for any other reason.

If I may ask, how did you find out about the Harman meeting? Did someone give you a leaflet or something? Just wondering.

BTW I run a forum that is a coalition of all left political persuations, including Anarchists and Socialists. Feel free to post up details of all events you hear about or are organising at  http://s11.invisionfree.com/antithesis

See ya guys!
