Midge Ure, former frontman of some crap 70's/80's pop band
has "tried to rein in his colleague" Saint Bob "Give us yer ferkin money" Geldof over a call for the entire population of Earth to converge on Edinburgh during the G8 Summit for a last round of golf before the oil-industry sponsored apocalypse.

"It's purely symbolic, it's just Bob being Bob," said demUre before adding pleasse nobody go to Scotland, you can make up for it by seeing me play in London".

Ure, former frontman with Ultravox and a founder of Live Aid, responded: "I heard a police chief in Edinburgh quoted as saying it's totally irresponsible what we're doing and this gives anarchists the chance to hijack a high-profile event."

Ure retorted "But this is just scaremongering, it's just crazy. Besides we are hoping to hijack the anarchists event."

Edinburgh officals also point to a shortage of portable toilets. "There were none left in the UK or the Republic of Ireland and sources in Europe were being contacted."

It is not know whether shadowy anarchist groups are hidng the toilets.
