Galloway Rocks The House -- or more appropriately, the Senate

Mike Flugennock | 18.05.2005 19:58 | Anti-militarism | Social Struggles

The Senate Permanent Subcommittee On Investigations, that is, insisting on making an ass of itself in front of the whole planet by attempting to discredit dissident British MP George Galloway with documents in "evidence" long-proven to be faked.

He'd "give them a good hiding", Mr. Galloway's reported to have said, and give them a hiding, he did -- or, "opened up a can of whup-ass", as we say on this side of The Pond...

Grand Inquisitor Wannabe...uh, Subcommittee Chairman Sen. Norm Coleman (D-AIPAC) and his loyal henchman Carl Levin, the Rank Democrat...uh, Ranking Democrat of the Inquisition, could only watch agog as document after forged document was shot down in flames by MP Galloway. Senator Dr. Bill Frist reports that neither Coleman nor Levin were still able to sit down as of this posting.

"D'ohh!" a correction, by the author

19.05.2005 16:03

I need to make a very important correction to this writeup, which is that Senator Norm Coleman from Minnesota is not a Democrat (D), but actually a Republican (R) -- a rather important bit of info which needed correction, for the record*.

So, that is, in fact, Senator Norm Coleman (R-AIPAC), Chairman of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee On Inquisitions...uh, Investigations. Sorry.

*but hell, I don't know, though; they seem so alike now.
