Tonight is WANC and rampART - womens only cafe with a school playground theme tonight.

All the rest of the week we have an exhibition of polish street art and at the weekend we have a party to celebrate one year of the rampART...

Come to the party...

The rampART Creative Centre and Social Space is ONE year old and we've got a MASSIVE EVENT set up to celebrate this anniversary on the 21.5.05. from 8PM TIL LATE with screenings of FILMS documenting the work of social centres all over the globe, vegan FOOD and DRINKS, live MUSIC in the hall and chillout space on the roof garden.

The First Live act is PLUS with their "strange and unhinged rock/pop with strong impro elements, mixing up 80ies electro with punk. Sometimes fairly mellow and beautiful, it can also be a bit weird and noisy" with occasional falsetto vocals.

Next is the "psychedelic pounding beautiful freakout mountain music" of MILTON MEZZROW, as the Pleasure Unit bar describes them, "'T-Rex fronted by Tim Buckley, in fact they are fronted by 'the supremely talented and beautiful Wednesday Rose' who sings like a bird and dances like a clown. A show of champions, a show of novelties, a show of wonders".
Then SEMAPHORE enter the stage: "Powerful psychedelic acoustic sound supported by enchanting lyrics. A definite must- see live."

(Karmadownload) "Darkly brooding groove rock" (Bugbear Promotions). The Camden New Journal writes "the charm of Semaphore is the rattling guitar and the dramatic coasting vocals they serve up with disarming proficiency"

Then GERTRUDE are ours to celebrate, they are "excellent live with
their anarchic cross fertilisation and it's impossible not to bounce
and smile and be happy at a Gertrude gig however bleak and angry their subject matter may be – it's because they smile so much, its because they're attitude is so positive and they're as punk as a skunk, its because they thrash hell out of their cellos and guitars…." (organ) to evoke a musical carnival. The NME writes: The got an agenda! They got a manifesto! Oh no! They're Riot Grrrls! absolutely brilliant!"

after that it's the djs turn: DJANE SEXYRUBBERSOLE makes you dance with drum'n'bass, DJ MILO makes you hot with old school funk and new beats, DJANE MONDSTROM makes you riot with anarcho electro grrl sound and DJ CULTURE M makes you easy with chilling roots reggea vibes.

the award winning VJs FREEDOM X create the visuals.
