SchNEWS in READING - TOMORROW!
Rage | 12.05.2005 15:39 | G8 2005 | Oxford
Date: Friday 13th May
Venue: RISC, 35-39 London Street, Reading (behind cinema end of the Oracle, opposite the Youth Provision Centre w/ the black history mural & next door to Great Expectations hotel+bar).
Whats goin' on:
Our friends from Brighton's world-famous SchNEWS direct action newsletter (www.schnews.org.uk) will be visiting Reading soon as part of a national tour to inform people about opposition to Bush's visit and the G8 summit in Scotland in July.
We'll be organising an anarchist version of the popular TV quiz show - Have I got SchNEWS for you, with some familiar local faces in the two teams - plus refreshments and a chance to make all kinds of plans for the G8 protests.
You will also be able to buy tickets or pick up a booking form for the Resist G8 Southeast Assembly trains to Scotland in July. A long stay train goes from 1st -9th July and a short stay goes from 4th -8th July. Both tickets are £50 return, cheaper for unemployed/low-waged/asylum-seeker. Don't worry though if you don't want to go all the way to Scotland for the demos, 'cos we will be planning stuff locally as well!
The evening will be an intoxicating blend of entertainment and activism - make sure you don't miss it!
