"Get out of our country and there will be no more explosions," he told the uncomprehending Americans staring at the smouldering wreck of a car bomb."

Iraqi police hurled insults at US soldiers after two suicide car bomb blasts in Baghdad killed at least seven people and left 19 wounded, including policemen.

"It's all because you're here," a policeman shouted in Arabic at a group of US soldiers after the latest in a bloody wave of attacks that have rocked Baghdad this month.

"Get out of our country and there will be no more explosions," he told the uncomprehending Americans staring at the smouldering wreck of a car bomb.

The explosion wounded three policemen as they stood guard at the entrance to the River Police compound on Abu Nawas street in the centre of the capital.

"We were near the headquarters and all of a sudden a Ford car rushed very fast at the closed gate. One of the guards opened fire and the car stopped, but moments later it exploded," Sergeant Abbas Mohammed told AFP.

"One guard was burnt and is in very critical condition. Two others were caught by the blast," he said.

Another suicide bomber also tried to attack a US army patrol on the central Saadun street but missed and smashed into other vehicles, setting them ablaze.

At least seven civilians were killed and 16 wounded, police and medics said.

"I was driving my bus with many passengers and on the other side of the street a US convoy was passing by," 45-year-old minibus driver Abdullah Jassim Mohammed said.

"All of a sudden there was a big explosion and I saw a man dying in front of me. The US convoy was unharmed," the driver said, who sustained slight head wounds.

"Since Americans invaded our country they have brought nothing but evil."

Question?

How many people were killed by car bombs during Saddam Hussein's reign?

Answer - NONE!

How many have been murdered, maimed and mutilated by car bombs since the occupation?

Answer - No-one's counting!

Hussein was removed from power for killing and torturing his own subjects.

The USA/UK (Zionist Alliance) are killing and torturing even more Iraqi's.

If this is democracy, I'll stick with anarchy.

Zionist and Terrorist conspiracies just dont wash

Its because of capitalism and imperialism or in contemporary terms neo-liberalism.

others like to blame terrorism, Islamic fundamentalism, Zionism .. or what ever ism plays best as the baddy - because they like neo-liberalism or are perhaps misinformed by media propaganda.

The Israeli state acts as 'local cop on the block' (Chomsky) in the middle east for thUS. Among other geo-political reasons, they help to ensure the sufficient quantities of cheap oil get on to the world market to support the US's voracious oil consuming society.

In return Israel can protect and expand its borders with the arms and money the US gives to it - the best part of the US's foreign aid budget.

It's just mutual interest between the two states at work, drive by the capitalism.

So, cut the world terrorism conspiracy; and the world Zionism conspiracy; and for that matter, although it has already been discredited, the world Muslim fundamentalist conspiracy to take over the world. It's yesterday hackneyed propaganda. Get real.

From An American girl's view of the war...

I watch the news and I see images of the destruction that is occuring over in Iraq. However, should you really be blaming the American soldiers for being there? They're only protecting their country and fulfilling their duties to their country. The soldiers aren't even the people making these car bombs. Other militant groups are making them and killing their own people.
i don't agree with the fact that the American government is telling everyone to destroy their nuclear weapons when they have kept theirs. I think that the nuclear weapons should never have been created to begin with. No good can come from such a horrific creation. I also believe that i would rather see these weapons in the hands of a country whose leader does not execute the innocent because they spoke out against him.
I wish that this war didn't have to happen, but we are trying to help re-build a nation. Not everyone is going to agree on this subject, but honestly we're trying to help. You also state that you wish that American's were not in your country. I know for a fact that most Americans wish the Terriorists of 9-11 were never in this country. We could choose to shut down our borders and make everyone of other nationalities go back to their own countries, but we don't. I just hope people can see that not all Americans are bad, there are people over here that work hard to have the little bit that they have. There are also those who choose not the work and somehow become wealthy. We're a diverse nation; not everyone is alike.
