Plans for Primate Lab Abandoned in Holland

imc uk | 04.05.2005 18:42 | Animal Liberation | World

Maastricht - The University of Maastricht cancelled the building of a primate vivisection lab because it is too expensive and they are afraid of actions against the primate centre by animal rights activists.

The request to build a new primate centre was initially presented by neuro-psychologist P. de Weerd. He recently received a subsidy of 1.25 million euros for research into the influence of genes and the nervous system and sense perception/learning. One part of this reasearch is taking tissue samples of the brains of Rhesus monkeys.

Animal Holocaust

15.05.2005 18:54

Nothing in the world is more reprehensible than humans thinking they have a right to capture, raise and imprison animals for experimentation, food purposes, body parts or other sick amusements. The Animal Holocaust is the biggest blight ever upon planet Earth.

It is a sure sign of effective activism when a company decides not to build a so-called "research" facility due to fear of activist intervention but a far superior sign when the thought of constructing such a concentration camp would never be considered at all for purely ethical reasons.

Humanity must rise to its potential as compassionate guardian of the planet and the creatures trying to evolve upon it or be relegated to straggler status within the universal scheme.
