Bradford Mayday Critical Mass

I joined around 20 other anarchists and cycled as slowly as possible around Bradford city centre, annoying plenty of motorists. Organisers seemed to be unhappy with the turn out, but considering the lack of publicity it wasn’t too bad. Police presence was fairly minimal, a video van circled us at the start and three traffic cops caught up with us at the end to tell us off and ask a few questions - no arrests were made and they left fairly quickly. Several people were hoping it becomes a regular monthly event, it would certainly be much more effective on a Friday evening rather than a quiet Sunday afternoon. For a city like Bradford I’d consider it a pretty good May Day celebration. Though obviously it could have been better. The threat of rain probably didn’t help, although it did stay dry and the sun even came out occaisionaly.
