sans-papiers: hungerstrike and occupation

(translation from indymedia germany)
Paris:On march 4th 15 sans-papiers (refugees without staying permission/papers)
occupied offices of Unicef Paris.
Since the 17th, eleven of them are in hungerstrike.
On march 19th, Unicef let evict the building.
The hungerstrike continues.

The ninth collectiv of sans-papiers decided this drastic step, because until
now, Unicef refused to give any statement concerning the situation of
children that are refugees/sans-papiers.
Efforts from the side of sans-papiers to get attention to the unstandable
circumstances were answered by the accuse that sans-papiers were
manipulating children for their aims.

Nowadays, all over europe children live behind barbed wire and/or isolated
far away from any settlement or population.
Many of them are born in these places. Many can't go to school. Some came to
europe without parents or lost them on the flight.
Often in the middle of the night, most of the times without any preparation,
children are taken out of their beds and their social life to bring them to
a deportation prison together with their parents. Or to immediately deport
them to a country they either don't know (anymore) or they have traumatic
memories of.
There they are threatened by things like hunger, war and death.
The sans-papiers complain that the situation for children in france is
getting even worse and the threatening is getting stronger.

The Unicef, which claims to want to help threatend children, doesn't seem to
consider it necessary to take a position or to get activ against this
situation on their own doorstep.
Suffering children are only worth caring if they stay in their origin
countries.

The sans-papiers urgently need support!
