Traveller support public meeting
CAN | 24.04.2005 15:51 | Migration | Repression | Cambridge
An evening of film and discussion about the travelling community in Britain. Weds 27 April, 8.30pm, the Bharat Bhavan (old Mill Road Library).
And then they came for the Travellers...
In recent months, gypsies and travellers have been the subject of a vicious hate campaign by both politicians and the rightwing press. As an antidote to this, we present an opportunity to hear from travellers themselves, as well as those who are working to support them in an often hostile society.
Directions: the Bharat Bhavan is the large hall on the left just before the railway as you head out of town along Mill Road. Enter from the side, through the large red door. A map is here: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=CB1+2AZ&spn=0.015533,0.029188&hl=en
Presented by the Cambridge Action Network http://www.cambridgeaction.net/ cambridge(at)lists.riseup.net
