An opportunity for members of the public to join this organisation which exchanges goods and services without the use of money.

East Lancs sets is an organisation whereby members are able to exchange goods and services without the use of money. They have their own 'currency' which is known as a Lonk, (a breed of Lancashire sheep), which are exchanged, credited/debited to your account as you exchange the services and goods within the group.

L.E.T.S. is inviting all it's members and non members to the Social and Trading event on Saturday, 16th April, at Central Methodist Church, off Hargreaves St. Burnley, from 12 - 4pm, where you can trade goods, and purchase goods on the day...there will be the opportunity to join LETS on the day so that you can begin to purchase straight away...we operate on a system whereby you can build up a debit balance initially, before you start to exchange your own goods and services.

More details will be available of how the scheme works at the event.

East Lancs Lets Social and Trading Event 16th April 2005

17.04.2005 18:21

This event went off well yesterday...current Lets members trading amongst themselves on the stalls...and members of the public also took a look around, joined Lets and started trading as well.

The Burnley Express sent along a photographer and reporter, and the article should appear in one of this week's editions.
