job cuts looming again

- - | 08.04.2005 17:26

reports today suggest a rover car plant in the midlands will soon close with the loss of thousands of jobs. a number of labour seats in the region are said by the bbc to be "vulnerable" if the closure goes ahead.

if ever a good example were available of how two party, one ideology government and its corporate partners manage elections in the weeks before a vote, here it is.

the scenario goes like this: business (that’s international and national free market interests) is very happy with the labour government. the labour government is very happy with the multi national corporations. labour voters are very happy with the corpoorations and the government but are appalled by the way they earn their blood money. pretty much the same would also be true if we were talking about a tory government.

the government and business understand this. there is a crisis. the people could vote libdem and send 2 party ideology into a tailspin. what is needed is a +fake+ to get everybody's attention away from the real one and back onto the 2 main parties. meetings between government and business are made and a fake crisis is manufactured. brilliant. all you need to do is swamp the media with this rubbish and everything stays the same for the one ideology government of …… the multinational free market corporations. it’s international cartels of rich people manipulating nationalisms to stay rich. don’t vote labour. don’t vote tory. vote libdem and crack the stranglehold.

>>what is needed is a +fake+ to get everybody's attention away from the real one and back onto the 2 main parties.

that should read:

"what is needed is a +fake+ crisis to get everybody's attention away from the real one and back onto the 2 main parties."

crisis real or fake. you decide.

derision to cover a lie

>>Slaves work for free!

they do. or at least they sometimes cost about the price of a meal a day. but little internet buddies like you who are really good at posting graphics on indymedia aren't slaves. you think being locked into a long working week and few other job prospects are slavery. they're not. the slavery is your aspiration. which is a bigger house and a new SUV i believe.

Q. Do we need any more Rover cars polluting the planet?

A: No we fucking don't.

It's the environment stupid

climate chaos

a phony diversion or massive regional crisis?

Yep I'm sure the 6,000 Longbridge workers and their families, plus all the local suppliers and businesses who rely on people not being all on the dole and skint like in the former mining communities all agree that its a "fake crisis" as well.

It certainly won't reduce the entire region to a smack-addicted wasteland, that's for sure (irony).

Now go back to your pamphlets and look up the phrase "working class solidarity."

Thank you.
