a poll today claims that labour's lead in the run up to the general election has dropped by a significant 5 points. it is reported that tony blair will announce may 5th as election day. the guardian, the independent, the mail, the times, the telegraph and the bbc all lead with this story.

polling, as seen in the last US election, is a way of controlling voting patterns by suggestion. The 5 point gap, a shock, a surprise, a who would have guessed it, is apparently big news. it isn’t. ignore it and vote for someone else.
