opnce again, nothing wrong with exposing the individual horrors of US (and british) soldiers in iraq. but this whole thing is a cynical and calculated distraction on the part of the US military / government (little need for a forward slash there), the british government and +++the corporate media+++ who are their PR agencies. the BBC is central to the blair project. if it was the tories in power it would be central to the tory project. this is not difficult to understand, less difficult to believe. why are you persisting with loylty to the good old beeb when it has demonstrated nothing but barren nationalist venality for nigh on a century? now more than ever. no more ads for aunty beeb thanks. click, white dot.

we all know how much of a destructive force news corporation is in the world but it's always good to see it's rank hypocrisy and drooling, money grubbing exploitation in action. get this from today's report:

"MORE than two million pilgrims are expected to flock to Rome this week as the world weeps for Pope John Paul II. Catholics have begun nine days of mourning for the much-loved Pontiff, who died aged 84 at 8.37pm (BST) on Saturday night. The Pope’s body was lying in state yesterday as Vatican officials paid their last respects. His Holiness was dressed in crimson vestments, his head covered with a white bishop’s mitre. John Paul’s head rested on a golden pillow, his arms folded and a bishop’s staff tucked under his left arm."

now compare with the screenshot of today's front page and tell me there isn't something a tad out of sync. go rupert go. see if you can take the moolah with you.
