The Hutson Street World Café is privileged and excited to launch the debut exhibition of Bradford artist David Morrill.

“Bradford is full of hidden talent,” said Joy Rainbow of the Hutson Street Community Centre, who chanced upon David Morrill in a Bradford framing shop. “His paintings caught my eye.”

David Morrill has painted privately his entire life, producing more than 100 paintings. The chance meeting with Joy Rainbow along with his sympathy for the victims of the Asian tsunami prompted him to go public.

“I don’t believe in coincidences,” said David Morrill.

One of the paintings on exhibit will be one he did in response to the tsunami this past December.

The Café’s walls have served as a community art gallery for more than a dozen local Bradford and Yorkshire artists since opening. The Hutson Street World Café serves affordable, delicious food with an international flavour from 9-4:30 on weekdays.

The World Café is partially funded by Bradford Trident, Bradford Council, Bradford City Primary Care Trust, and The European Regional Development Fund.
