Mr T | 21.03.2005 15:33 | Ecology | Education | Globalisation | Liverpool
NUS Services Limited (NUSSL) are having their AGM at the Adelphi hotel in Liverpool city centre tomorrow (Tues 22nd), starting at 10am.
Activists from Liverpool Social Forum and the Killer Coke campaign will be leafletting from about 8.30am, trying to persuade delegates to vote for a motion to end NUSSL's compulsory contract with Coca-Cola, who have been kidnapping, torturing and killing workers who try to organise trade unions in the Coca-Cola bottling plants in Colombia, and their practices in India of diverting water from poor villages to use for Coca-Cola factories. Please dress smartly, this needs to be a peaceful and dignified protest as the campaign has been recieving a lot of negative publicity in Colombia recently.
