Protest agaianst building on Metropolitan Open land in Upper Clapton

There will be a Fun Protest at the site of the old Springfield Park One O'Clock Club site on Sunday 20th March between 2 and 4 pm .. bring ribbons for the fence, music , paints, children etc .. this has been called by Springfield Park Users Group and members of the local community

Planning permision has been granted to build a school on this site by the River Lea that has always been open and regarded as part of the park .. and used for all the community as a club for toddlers until this was closed 3 years ago , after protests from the local community .

the development breaks numerous government planning guidelines (PPG's) over developments on greenfield sites

it will damage the river side, will bring traffic on to the traffic free spring lane and is opposed overwhelmingly in the local community, who support the work the school do BUT believe this is the wrong site for it's new building.

reclaim the one o'clock site!
