Since the death of Hariri and the beginning of "Hariri's game" due to 30kg of explosive (still untraced) on Saint Valentine's day, the American university in Beirut, has invited along with other pro-US entities operating in the Lebanon, lots, nay, oodles of people to lend their shiny bright unbraced teeth to the photo-ops and poster writing.
It is certainly the right of the Lebanese people a former French possession and pivotal part of the ancient palestinian Levant of christendom to full self-determination and independence from Syria.
Their rights must be understood by Europeans who have long contributed the major part of military assistance through the recognised and legal instruments of international arbitration (the UN) to assist in peace efforts, as being threatened by two monsters.
That of post the Baathist pan-islamic centralised state, militarised Syria.
And of a generation of young american educated Lebanese and "lebenese appearing" temporary residents in the Levant including the states of Cyprus, Turkey and Israel who've recently tkaen advantage of reduced telephone rates and presented the world's media with american english political banners.
The Lebanese people, need to be independent.
They do not another pro-American billionaire such as Hariri who will fleece the economy of more than 3,000,000,000stg in less than ten years.
They do not need the continued presence of the Syrian military or Syrian inteligence operatives, but they _do_ need the continued presence of Syrian workers who number more than one million and have till now been welcomed in the state of Lebanon.
The Cedar revolution is not the Orange revolution.
