The South Wales Evening Post has reported that pupils in catholic comprehensive schools in Port Talbot,Swansea, and Llanelli have been banned from supporting this year's Comic Relief Appeal by the Diocese of Meneva which controls the three comprehensive schools of St Joseph's,Bishop Vaughan and St John Lloyd.
The ban has been opposed because Comic Relief has been accused by the spokesman of the catholic church of having links with "acts of abortion" in third world countries.
Many pupils , parents and teachers are angry about the ban.
