A public meeting on the government's 'Supporting People' policy, immigration and access to justice, organised by Asian Women Unite.

Shamshad Hussain, of Imkaan, will speak on how the government's 'Supporting People' policy affects Asian women who use specialist refuges. Hannana Siddiqui, of Southall Black Sisters, will speak about the two-year probationary immigration rule and how it affects women who have come from abroad on the basis of marriage or a relationship with someone living in Britain. Ranjit Kaur, the Director of Rights of Women, will examine how the lack of public funding for legal aid affects Black and Minority Ethnic women, particularly victims of domestic violence.
