Privatising Iraq's oil

Iraqi Ministry of Oil are holding a conference in London, June 2005 for the purpose of privatisation of Iraq's oil and gas! Protest needed!

A conference is being held at Paddington in June by representatives of Iraq's Ministry of Oil to promote the sale of their oil fields!

Basically this is a technical conference organised by a UK-based consultancy aimed at attracting interest/investment in Iraqi oil and gas fields, which they boast are "the second largest in the world" (full details at their website:  http://www.entrac.freeserve.co.uk/ipc_2005.htm). Interestingly most of their speakers are from Iraq's Ministry of Oil. This is obviously a precursor for the privatisation of Iraq's oil -the real purpose of the war- and just over a month after the phoney elections! They also boast:

"When attending this conference, You will also network with:

• CEOs and Directors and Managers of Oil companies • Business Development Directors • Analysts • Consultants and Senior Managers from Iraq , Middle East and the international oil industry."

It is held near Paddington -which is very close to Edgeware Road -one of London's largest Lebanese communities. It will be easy to spot the attendees -they will be the ones in suits, wearing those conference passes you get (even the "CEOs"!!). Maybe someone could volunteer to give it the "Yes Men" treatment?
