Jane | 03.03.2005 19:25 | Oxford

Founder of Oxford Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Honorary National PSC Member, Judith Dawes, died on Saturday 26th February at the Churchill Hospital. She was an active member of the Green Party, CND, her local church, and founder member of Network of Oxford Women for Peace and Justice (NOW).

Judith was a warm, strong, cheerful and loving person and a great humanitarian. She will always be remembered for her devoted campaigning for the Palestinian people and the restitution of their rights and freedoms.

Her funeral will be on Tuesday 8th March at 12.45 at the Church of the Holy Family, Cuddesdon Way, Blackbird Leys (next to Blackbird Leys Swimming Pool and the Blackbird Pub).

This will be followed by a “green” woodland burial at Headington Cemetary, Dunstan Road..

Afterwards everyone is welcome back to the church for refreshments, where there will be time to share thoughts, memories and feelings about Judith.

Please bring food to share, vegetarian if possible. Judith had been vegetarian for many years, and loved to grow her own organic vegetables on her allotment. Judith was an inspiration to many of us and a very good friend. Our thoughts go out to her family. We will all miss her.

Donations to Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
