Azim has only one (legal) way to remain in this country and avoid deportation back to Afghanistan - that is to get leave to remain from Des Browne MP (Minister for Immigration) or Charles Clarke, the HOme Secretary. We will be trying to build public pressure on these two figures to grant such dispensation - but to do that, we need to show massive support not only from fellow students but from the wider Oxford community. Please keep early afternoon of March 5th free, and help support an Afghani student who only wants to complete his education and stay with his friends in the UK.

Also, if anyone wanted to phone into the Bill Heine show on BBC Radio Oxford on Thursday 17th February from 4 pm to 4.45 pm, Des Browne MP will be fielding questions. Ask why he won't allow Azim to stay with his wife, his friends and his community.

Cheers,

Matt
