It is proven this is worth doing as the US authority is doing all it can to stop it taking place. In recent times the intimidation initiated by the Ministry of Defence Police Agency (MDPA), under instruction from the US authorities, has increased with campaigner Lindis Percy being repeatedly arrested resulting in more draconian bail conditions (read reports at  http://cndyorks.gn.apc.org/caab)

On the evening of Tuesday February 15th the vigil was joined by people from as far away as Pocklington and Sheffield. Those bearing witness were heavily outnumbered by the MDPA bearing video-cameras, clipboards, “information” sheets, guns, tape measurers and a supply of stop and search forms.

The MDPA tactics are devious and underhand – after two visitors had asked if their car was parked in an acceptable location the police waited until they could cut off the two concerned and then subjected the vehicle to a full stop and search under the prevention of terrorism act.
