I would like to bring your attention to a Launch Night and video
Screening for an exciting new regional website and media activist
collective. The name of the group is SouthCoast IndyMedia and forms
part of a global network of anti-war, global justice, environmental,
animal rights and other activist related activities. The website is
essentially a resource that publishes articles for activists by
activists and subscribes to open-publishing standards (eg copyleft and
free speech), allowing people to by-pass the corporate media. It has
been an important anti-war resource in the UK and the rest of the
World.

As part of the launch celebrations the group are having a video
screening and talk about the mobilisation for the G8 protests in July
in Scotland. The video will focus on local activities by a variety of
groups. Local people will also be taking about why they plan to
protest the G8 and why its important to moblise early for this.

It is important in these times of increasing corporate dominance of
the media that such resources exist. As such if you are planning or
attending any activities (such protest, direct action or whatever)
then can I recommend to you that you use this site.
