campus activism

nice one. always good to see stories of campus activism seeing as how there are so few. what is the NUS up to these days? last i saw it was some corporate moneyspinning operation.

the campaign against the arms trade has a clean investment capmpaign aimed at universities disinvesting in the arms trade. in the list of universities trent +may+ have shares in the top 6 companies (butit's not known - NK), nottingham has shares in Rolls Royce, and NK in the other 5. perhaps you could do some digging and find out if they have shares. could add another side to your peace campaign.

All Wales Peace Festival

10.02.2005 14:20

All Wales Peace Festival

You are warmly invited to join the annual All-Wales Peace Festival taking place in Aberystwyth on 18-19th March. The festival coincides with the international day of action. While supporting the 'Bring the Troops Home' theme of the march in London, we are focusing our distinctly Welsh action on Responsibility And War (see programme below).

We would welcome your contributions in terms of organisation, activities or anything else you think will fit. Feel free to apply for a stall. We have a poster for you to print and display in as many places as possible. This will follow shortly as a separate email.

Please let us know if you can't receive it and we'll arrange for a snail mail copy!

On the day please bring banners, placards and white gloves (one each will do) to respond to the call 'Hands up for Peace!' Also, elect one or two stewards for the march from your group, if possible. And please plan your own actions for the march - street theatre, circus skills.... We want to make it as colourful and as event-full as possible!
